Ray Gehring, a professional jazz guitarist for over 25 years, has performed, recorded and toured with many outstanding musicians including Bill Carrothers, Dave King, Daniel Carter, Sean Wayland, Mark Ledford, Funky Town Studios, and TROMA Films. Gehring received his BFA from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis studying with award-winning composer Judith Lang-Zaimont and passionately pursuing jazz and classical guitar performance.

Ray also has 25 years’ experience event planning, sponsorship securement, and fundraising for several music festivals including the 1999 Northwest Airlines Mill City Music Festival, an outdoor, three-day festival which featured Prince as its headlining act. He has organized concerts for many not-for-profits including Minnesota Earth Day, Twin Cities Jazz Festival, and Minnesota Public Interest Research Group amongst others. Currently, Ray has been leading many ensembles in the NY area since arriving in 2000, "Ray Gehring & Commonwealth" is his latest group. Last release: "Radio Trails" (Evan Music).
